Railway Recruitment Board, Ajmer
Railway Service Commission, Ajmer which was set up in 1983 was renamed as Railway Recruitment Board Ajmer in 1985.It was shifted in the present building in March 1988.
Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Ajmer functions under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India. It is primarily responsible for recruiting the working and supervisory staff (Group 'C') required for Ajmer, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner Divisions of North-Western Railway and Kota Division of West-Central Railway.
There Railway Recruitment Control Board (RRCB) at the Railway Board level oversees the functioning of RRBs. RRCB issues instructions and guidelines to the RRBs to ensure that recruitment is done on the basis of merit and in accordance with Government policy. RRCB also undertakes redressal of grievances of the candidates in the matters concerning recruitment.

RRB/Ajmer has a Chairman, and a Member Secretary and an Assistant Secretary and supporting non-gazetted staff.

Brief of Selection Procedure
RRB calls for eligible applicants through wide publicity in "Employment News" (A publication of the Government of India) and other national/state/local newspapers. The employment notification is also uploaded on the official web sites of RRBs.
The applications are generally invited online. They have to upload requisite documents and pay fee (wherever applicable). The eligible candidates are called for a written examination with call letters being uploaded in advance of the date of the examination. Examinations are now mostly held as ‘Computer Based Test (CBT)’- routinely called ‘Online exam’.
There is no interview after the written examination. In some categories, there will be a ‘Second stage written examination’. In the categories related to operational safety, the successful candidates of final written exams will be called for a psychological/aptitude test.
The application details furnished by successful candidates are verified and they are called for scrutiny of original documents i.e. Document Verification (DV).
The selection process is based on merit and is subject to the rules and regulations issued by the Ministry of Railways (Railway Board), Government of India which includes reservation of jobs for certain castes/communities, such as Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC/NCL). Persons with Disability (PwD) and Ex-servicemen are also entitled for reservation as per the rules

- Official web site of RRB.
- SMS on registered mobile and mail on registered mail ID.
Appointments:
A panel of names is then recommended to the concerned Railway to the extent of the vacancies. The successful candidates will be required to pass a medical examination before appointment. The medical examination will be organised by the concerned Railway.
The entire recruitment system functions impersonally without fear or favour, in a transparent and fair manner. There is no scope for corruption, influence or discretion in this process. Candidates indulging in malpractices and unfair means are dealt with strictly.
